We have a dream. A dream that one day all websites will be built with design principles and the end-user in mind. That color schemes and structure will go hand-in-hand with content. That's why Ideas and Pixels was started. We saw other people producing sites that just didn't do it for us and we begged the question, "Are these people really the ones we want dictating the future of web design?" Of course not.

Our hands-on approach to the web

As you have probably heard, we build websites. Good, clean ones. The kind of websites that people talk about. Perhaps that's how you got here.

We enjoy an environment where creativity and input is strongly encouraged, if not expected. Every day we ask ourselves to push the boundaries on every project. When we present a completed website at the end of the development cycle, we want to see an ear to ear grin from our clients.

In order to do this, we employ almost every language the web has ever embraced. (X)HTML, XML, Javascript (jQuery), PHP, CSS, Actionscript. You name it, we probably use it. And we code it all with our little hands. You won't find any pre-made templates here.

Clean CSS Design Layouts

When we say clean, we mean the cleanest. Sticking to the World Wide Web Consortium's Standards, all of our code is fashioned so clearly that even your grandmother could decipher some of it. We mark everything up in comments so that future web developers have no trouble navigating the virtual terrain.

Serverside & Database Interaction

The backbone of any dynamic website, we create custom databases in SQL, the most widely used method of data storage on the web, optimized under the strictest standards to ensure that all data is kept secure and safe from corruption. Using AJAX methods, we strive to make each website or application we create function through the back-end of the site, making everything your user interacts with appear seamless. Many large corporations are taking advantage of these animation-like features on their websites, such as Facebook and Google.

Specializing in the PHP server-side language, we are able to create custom web applications for a variety of uses. Using CodeIgniter to facilitate development, projects are completed much faster and efficiently, and with a lower probability of internal errors than expected when building from the ground up.

Search Engine Optimization

Who hasn't heard about SEO these days? If you're a part of a business, chances are you've had more than a few letters in the mail saying something like, "We can get you to the top of Google quickly!" Anyone who says this may not necessarily be wrong -- with thousands of dollars per month paid directly to Google, you can in-fact get to the top. But stop paying, and you'll most likely drop right off the face of the internet.

However, a properly designed website coupled with some other techniques can ensure that, albeit slowly, you can get to the top of Google, and stay there without paying Google a single red penny. This is called organic search rankings, and it's what we're good at.
